WoTLK Expansion Is Almost Here – ETA: 75 hours!
That’s right folks, the Wrath of the Lich King, World of Warcraft expansion is coming to stores in just about 75 hours from my writing of this post! Have you preordered your copy yet?
I preordered mine last month, based on what my friends told me. I never played WoW before The Burning Crusade, so I have no idea what to expect as far as lines on buying WoTLK. My friends said there still would be lots of people there, but preordering the game makes for a much shorter line. Personally, I think I’m too ADD to wait in lines and will probably go crazy waiting for the game.
Anyways, I couldn’t take the Thursday after the xpak off from work, but I managed to take the Friday off, so I’ll be playing WoTLk consecutively for at least 24-36 hours non-stop (exaggeration), when it comes out.
My GM and a few friends have already come out with some great ideas to power level, and hopefully we’ll use a pally tank and AoE grind our way to level 80. I have no idea how hard it will take from 70-80, but I’d imagine its going to be harder than 60-70, and that grind itself was unbearable.
On a side note, I finally bumped my gear up to 1300+ spell power, which is great! I’ve also been working on making a haste gear set, and have a set of gear that drops my spell power to 1200ish, but gives me around 100 haste. I haven’t done any real DPS experiments with it yet, and probably won’t till I hit level 80. From what I hear though, when you already have a lot of spell power, stacking haste is more beneficial than stacking crit, since most gear you have should already have a decent amount of crit on it.
Oh, and I’m actually a little happy they merged spell power gear and healing gear. I picked up a new helm in Black Temple the other night, and even though it lacked the usual spell damage gear stats like crit/hit, it still had a buttload more spell power and gem sockets than my previous helm. It annoys me a little because I know its meant to be a healing helm, but its the best that I’ve seen drop (damned Hood of Hexing has never dropped for me in my 5 million ZA runs).
Anyways, sorry for the short post, I’m actually at work right now (even though its Sunday!), and about to get ready to go home.

Hey,
I just wanted to say that I found your site a week or so ago and have enjoyed reading and taking your advice. I started with WOW back in August, so I still consider myself a bit of a noob and really appreciate being able to see what an experienced player thinks and the reasoning for his talent spec and everything else. I have been playing the balance/moonkin spec as soon as i was able too and it has never steered me wrong. I just recently hit level 70 and am proud to say that since I hit level 35, most of my leveling was done solo.
Tell me, do you have any way that we could post our individual talent builds and discuss them? That way we fellow moonkins can come together and collectively kick butt.

Gratz on hitting 70 by the way, that was probably one of the best days of my WoW life lol.
As far as a place to post your individual talents, I COULD create a new forum for it, but no one has seemed to post on my forums yet… I’ll add a talent discussion forum to my forums and see if people start talking a little bit.

Hey – I’m wondering if you would be willing to write a quick piece about your spell rotation.
I have Glyph of Moonfire and Starfire so my rotation is pretty much Moonfire => Insect Swarm => Starfire => Moonfire/Insect swarm to refresh timer.
Rule of exception – if OOC procs => Starfire. If crit, => Starfire.
